Well, my full name is Marilynn Lokelani Kauhane Howe. But that is a helluva long name for a byline. I am a hapa writer, photographer, and mom of two.

Traveling back and forth between our beloved Hawaiʻi and throughout the mainland is a source of joy (and sometimes chaos with a husband, children, and two doodles on the loose).

As we say in Texas, "Lord have mercy."

Homesickness for the islands sets in easy when we aren’t on the go. But there is a saying in Hawaii, too. ‘A‘ohe loa i ka hana a ke aloha. Distance is ignored by love.
